A closeted high schooler falls for an anonymous classmate over email while trying to hold together the ordinary chaos of senior year, friendship, and family — until a blackmail threat forces the secret into the open. Adapted from Becky Albertalli's novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.
Why it’s here
Punk in being unapologetically mainstream and joyful about a gay teen romance — no tragedy required, no "bury your gays" ending, just an ordinary rom-com plot handed to a queer kid. Pedagogical in normalizing coming out as just one more part of a regular teenage life, not a special burden.
